Who We Are

About Community Action of Nebraska

Community Action of Nebraska (CAN) is the state association for Nebraska’s nine Community Action Agencies and provides a voice for those Agencies and the people they serve. CAN is a member of the Community Action Partnership, a national hub that links Community Action Agencies to each other.


Community Action of Nebraska’s mission is to alleviate poverty by enhancing program development, providing technical assistance, and advocating public policy to support all Community Action Agencies in Nebraska.

There are over one thousand Community Action Agencies, state associations and national partners across the country addressing the causes and conditions of poverty through Community Action initiatives.
