Community Action of Nebraska’s mission is to alleviate poverty by enhancing program development, providing technical assistance, and advocating public policy to support all Community Action Agencies in Nebraska.
There are over one thousand Community Action Agencies, state associations and national partners across the country addressing the causes and conditions of poverty through Community Action initiatives.
All work to fulfill The Promise of Community Action.
“Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.”
Community Action Agencies in Nebraska provide services and programs designed to meet the local needs of the communities they serve.
Community Action was created through the efforts of Lyndon B Johnson and Sargent Shriver. This video is a clip of President Johnson’s War on Poverty speech.
